Italian Ice Cream - Intenso

The intense flavour of gelato, semifreddo and tortoni await.  These wonderful ice desserts are so much better homemade! These delectable sweets can be made with or without an ice-cream churn, deliciously light and suited to setting in molds for a fabulous presentation or scooped into glasses for laid-back enjoyment. This class will feature intense flavours like dark chocolate, passionfruit, coffee and dates, plus a long-standing favourite candied fruit and nut confection perfectly suited for Christmas. 
The session includes a demonstration of each ice cream style made from scratch with some hands-on participation, and includes full printed recipes and there will also be plenty of ice cream to take home (bring your containers!).

A two-course sit-down lunch with wines (and ice cream dessert!) is included.

Italian Ice Cream - Fresh and Light

Enjoy sampling and making a range of gelato, sorbet and semifreddo to celebrate the fruits and flavours of summer.  These can all be made with or without an ice-cream churn and will feature fresh flavours from the Meander garden - apricots, figs, rose and mulberry are possibilities on the day.

This session includes a demonstration of each ice-cream style made from scratch with some hands-on participation, plus full recipe notes, a two-course delicious lunch served in the dining room or on the verandah.  There'll also be ice-cream to take home (remember your containers).

Kitchen Garden to Plate - Late Summer

From Kitchen Garden to Plate - Late Summer

Take a tour of Meander's kitchen garden, and we'll gather herbs, vegetables and fruit for deliciously simple meals, as well as step through some easy preserving methods suitable for small quantities of harvest.   The session includes recipes and preserving notes, demonstration and hands-on prep, a two-course lunch served with wine.

Cancellation conditions

 

Bookings are fully refundable if

   - cancelled at least 14 days prior to the session date;

   - a state-wide (SA) or localised COVID lockdown is mandated;  OR

   - if a class is cancelled by Meander (in which case a additional discount will be offered for a future class).

​

If you cancel a booking within 14 days of the session date, 85% of the price will be refunded IF another booking from the wait-list can fill your place.

​

Wherever possible, Meander Retreat will look after you even if you cancel by offering a discount for a future course, but as a very small venue, late cancellations can make an event run at a loss so refunds are not negotiable beyond the terms noted above.
